Distinguish material characterization, mitochondrial morphology and functional measurements.
Understanding the research context
A mitochondrial research paper may combine images, biochemical assays and functional measurements. These observations complement one another, but none should be silently substituted for the others. A structural change in an image is not itself a complete account of mitochondrial function.
For SS-31 literature, record the experimental model and how the sample was characterized. The relevance of a study depends on the match between its question and your own, not simply the presence of the compound name in the title.
Questions for a literature table
- Which endpoint was directly measured?
- Which controls support the interpretation?
- Does the reference material match the reported molecule?
Connect the topic to the material
Keep the molecular identity, assay context and source of analytical information together. A product name or research category does not establish batch quality. Where catalogue information is incomplete, resolve the specification before selecting a material.
